East Tennessee Mountain Attractions

East Tennessee with it’s natural landscape and abundance of activities draws up to 10 million guests every year. Pigeon Forge TN is a great place for families. The Pigeon Forge Parkway has so many things to see and do that your children will never get bored. Dollywood is also located in Pigeon Forge and is entertaining for all ages. Why not enjoy a dinner theatre like the Dolly Parton Stampede or The Lumberjack Feud? Also on the Parkway you can enjoy indoor skydiving, shopping, go cart tracks and restaurants – just to name a few activities you will find along the Pigeon Forge Parkway.

Sevierville TN

Surrounding Pigeon Forge is the town of Sevierville TN. Sevierville is home to the nation’s longest zip line at Legacy Mountain Resort. Yahoo Zip lines has one of the nation’s longest zip line courses. Sevierville has the nation’s second longest swinging bridge, since Gatlinburg built the first longest pedestrian swinging bridge.

Gatlinburg TN

At the end of the Pigeon Forge Parkway, you will travel on into Gatlinburg TN. Gatlinburg with it’s many shops, museums, restaurants and bars is a great place to get out and enjoy the activities. There is moonshine distilleries and banjo playing right in the streets. This gorgeous land connected to the Smoky Mountains is truly on our list of things to do every time we are in town.

Great Smoky Mountain National Park

Located on the edge of Gatlinburg, the Great Smoky Mountain National Park has many beautiful sights to see. We love to visit the Mingus Mill, Oconaluftee Visitors Center and Clingman’s Dome. One can find various swimming holes in the Great Smoky Mountains. There are hiking trails to choose from that range from very strenuous to easy for the beginning hiker. For those who cannot hike, there is the Roaring for Motor Trail off of traffic light number 10 in Gatlinburg and there is Cades Cove which is near Townsend TN.

If you take traffic light number 3 off of the Pigeon Forge Parkway on your way to Townsend, you will pass through Wears Valley. This road passes through many little towns and there are plenty of things to see and do on the way. While enjoying this scenic drive, we recommend stopping at the Tennessee Shine Company, Geppetto’s Italian Restaurant and Friendly Falls Gifts and Stuff.
